This review critiques the book "Mulheres na Ciência: O que mudou e o que ainda precisamos mudar" (2024), organized by Leticia de Oliveira and Tatiana Roque. The book brings together 11 researchers and o1 interviewee to diagnose gender and racial inequalities in the Brazilian scientific ecosystem. The analysis covers statistical data on the "scissors effect", the neuroscience of implicit bias, racial intersectionality, the impacts of motherhood, and grassroots initiatives, culminating in practical manuals for mitigating biases in calls and selections. It is concluded that the work is a fundamental instrument for the institutional transformation of academia.
