Is there a Lesbian Literary Culture?

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to questio the existence of a lesbian literary culture using Monique Wittig’s (1992) materialist approach to the lesbian category. The situation of women in patriarchy will be characterized by the concepts of colonization offered by Alfredo Bosi (1992) and Claudia Von Werlhof (2015). Subsequently, lesbians will be positioned as fugitives from the heterosexual colonizing regime of patriarchy and their literary creation as coming from a culture resistant to male colonization.
