Abstract

This article covers devotion of the nunneries of Chagas, Santa Cruz and Esperança to Our Lady of Conception of Vila Viçosa, patroness of Portugal. Registered in the Brotherhood of the Slaves, they made the connection between the mother church and the noblest convents of the locality.
