The general objective of the present study is to investigate the flexion process in sign languages. Specifically, we intend to analyze the flexion phenomenon in the Brazilian Sign Language – Libras. As for the theoretical-methodological framework, the study draws on a bibliographic review of the topic. The theoretical framework is based on a set of theoretical assumptions that have guided the descriptive work of sign languages and Libras, especially those developed by Aronoff (1997), Aronoff, Meir and Sandler (2005), Felipe (2006), Ferreira Brito (1995; 2010), Quadros and Karnopp (2004). This study is justified by our desire to contribute to studies focused on describing the morphological aspects of Libras and by the little attention paid to flexion processes in sign languages.
