Immigration, school and national construction: some notes on the Argentine Republic

Abstract
The population which forms Argentina from the turn of the century is a barrage of cultures, languages and ideological influences, that the political structure of the new State aims to standardize and consolidate under a sense of identity, which must necessarily being formed at school. This paper presents some notes on the trend of the different collective immigrants to keep and preserve its hallmarks in the destination by means of own educational experiences and strategies of State and legislative created instruments are built to improve a sense of belonging, inherent in the education of a new citizen in the new post-colonial political time. In both aspects of the same reality, the school plays a key role.
