Abstract

I believe that a survey of publishers, authors and popular books helps to think about the topic. Thus, I came to the concept of culture of borders, which includes several segments of the universe of books and popular publishing. We tackled gradations and limits, urban peripheries, other topics, unconventional circuits, recurrent imaginaries ,and unexpected conjunctions. Here continues the Culture of borders project, which defines without defining and leads us to think that borders are a cosmopolitan poetics. This brief testimony on the history of reading and publishing, aims to bring up situations, topics, themes, and concepts developed during our career and in our works in progress.

Keywords: culture of borders; popular culture; history of publishing.
