Abstract

The present study investigates the labor market segmentation to young, formal and informal, by gender and activities in Brazilian regions, has ns institutional framework the new Consolidation of Labor Laws (CLT) nº 13.467 of 2017. The methodology encompasses the continuous PNAD for young people (16-24 years) from 2017 to 2019 quarterly. The labor changes did not affect the pre-existing dynamics of youth employment in Brazil and the permanence of inter-regional inequalities is noted, the prevalence of informality among young men in the North and Northeast while the Southeast and South regions have a percentage equivalent to formal employment.
