The purpose of this essay is to present, in a very brief way, those arguments that, in my understanding, are important to show that Marx's economic theory is logically and empirically consistent, as well as being the best theoretical perspective to understand development. contemporary capitalism. The Great Depression of 2007-08, the low dynamism of the recovery phase of capitalist economies and, above all, the growing increase in social inequalities, unemployment and poverty, put in check not only the experience of neoliberalism, especially from the point of view of the working class, but also the validity of mainstream economic theory itself, but it has not generated, so far, a crisis of 'dominant economic thought'.
