O Impacto Econômico do Financiamento da Ciência: Estudo de Caso um Bem de Capital em Nanotecnologia

Abstract

This article presents an analysis of the impact on the Brazilian economy generated by the nationalization and commercialization of a capital asset used in scientific research in nanoscience and nanotechnology. The impact is calculated using an input-output matrix, considering three scenarios: (i) the purchase of imported equipment; (ii) the purchase of national equipment from imported and national components; and (iii) the purchase of national equipment considering the national production of all components. The economic impact of the purchase of national equipment makes investment in science positive, regardless of scientific, technological or innovation results from research.
