The present article aims to define the profile of the multidimensional poverty in Brazil in 2014. By means of Alkire and Foster's methodology, it has been found the value 8.5% for the Multidimensional Poverty Index in 2014. The results show that the poor population in the country suffers higher levels of privation in Basic Services considering, mainly, the access to basic sanitation and water sources. Besides, it has been noticed that the North and North East regions are in more serious situations with regard to multidimensional poverty, presenting the worst indices.
