Abstract

This article presents some results obtained during the development of the project “Environment in focus: the EEEFM IzauraFalcão de Carvalho as a starting point”, in the city of Lucena, Paraíba. The main objective of the project was to sensitize the students of this school, highlighting the importance of the environmental issue in view of the local challenges of the municipality so that they could contribute to the dissemination of the knowledge acquired to the community, making the project reach for beyond the school walls. The project was developed with the participation of teachers, students and the school management and the article presents contributions from the discipline Geography in the project with an approach to the environmental issue as a transversal theme of the school curriculum.
