Abstract

This report deals with the secondary professional education and the space dedicated to the discipline Geography in this modality of education, presenting an experience of internship with research in the Esthetics course at a State School of Professional Education, located in the city of Fortaleza – CE (Brazil). In the work we do a retrospective of the history of professional education, aiming from the beginning until the same win the current structure. We also identify the characteristics of integrated secondary education, which aims to train students for the world of work and also to enter higher education. We note that this modality of education follows the perspective of the current economic system, acting in accordance with established purposes. We emphasize that the school model is configured as positive, both in quantitative and qualitative terms. The teaching of Geography is linked to a traditional perspective, but we point out that it has a dynamicity and that causes interest in students, despite the difficulty in assimilation. Based on these assumptions, we referred an intervention activity that went through the union of the discussions in the field of aesthetics and how this was inserted in the geographical discussion. Working with the students the notion of beauty, which for them was ugly and beautiful, relating this perspective with the current economic system. In this way we can infer that in fact the students realized that geography can join discussions that are pertinent to the course of aesthetics, in addition to enabling dialogue, action verified from the heated discussions and pronouncement of people who in the usual classes did not dialogue .
