Abstract

The objective of this article is to present the results obtained by the project “Ginástica Geral e Atividades Circenses (GGAC) [General Gymnastics and Circus Activities, in Free Translation]”, the population affected and the products generated. The GGAC intends to expand the training of the academics from the Physical Education course of the Pantanal Campus of the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, and at the same time, offer to the academics from the other courses and external community the possibility of knowing and experiencing the circus activities. The circus activities in the project were designed to foster the learning of technical skills (mainly the gymnastics) and the physical capacities necessary for its execution, an aesthetic education regarding forms and gestures and, as far as possible, instigating artistic creativity. During the first year of the GGAC, four artistic presentations were held, a study and research group was created, four papers presented at congresses and three papers for the conclusion of the course.
