The project “Ouvidoria Acolhidas” as an instrument for the promotion of gender equality in brazilian university

Abstract

This article aims to reflect on the relevance of the Extension Project “Ouvidoria Acolhidas” in its first two years at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU). This paper is divided in three parts. The first is a brief presentation of the Project and its scope. Then, the main activities carried out in the chosen period are highlighted, emphasizing the consolidation of actions to seek legal solutions, institutional transformations and addressing inequality, violence and gender aggression in the institution's internal community, as well as its insertion in a broader context of creation of ombudsmen and networks to confront violence in several public educational institutions of the country in recent years. Finally, we stress the positive outcomes obtained in this period, establishing the importance of those extension activities as a means of reducing the various forms of aggression and gender violence practiced in the university.
