The Brazilian Network for Human Rights Education (ReBEDH) is a non-profit, non-partisan civil society organization founded in 1995 by a group of educators, researchers, and activists with the aim of strengthening Brazilian democracy after the civil-military dictatorship period. Since then, ReBEDH has acted as a collective space for articulation, training, and resistance in the field of Human Rights Education (HRE), influencing public policies and consolidating HRE as a theoretical, practical, and political field. In addition, it has been a leading player in the creation and implementation of educational outreach actions in HRE. This article briefly presents the history of ReBEDH, its role in the formulation of national public policies, and especially its activities in the state of Minas Gerais (MG), Brazil. The reactivation of the Network in 2020, in the face of democratic setbacks and rights violations in Brazil, marks a new phase of institutional strengthening and expansion of educational actions. In MG, ReBEDH has been promoting meetings, courses, publications, political articulations, and building training networks committed to social justice, equity, and full citizenship.
