Gender and sexuality from the perspective of feminist and queer studies

notes on the contributions of Judith Butler and Paul B. Preciado

Abstract

The article brings some of the contemporary discussions presented by Feminist Studies and Queer Studies, based on the ideas of the American philosopher Judith Butler and the Spanish philosopher and transfeminist Paul B. Preciado. We present their contributions to the construction and questioning of the analytical categories of gender and sexuality, as well reflections on agency, performativity, sexpolitics and countersexuality.
