The main objective of this work is to investigate the struggles and conquests of women for important rights, such as those that gave them space and a certain recognition, especially in the social, political and cultural fields. To this end, it was considered relevant to address the genesis of inequality between men and women, as well as the centrality of feminist movements in the trajectory of women's struggle in search of their rights. The research in question uses the historical materialist method and is predominantly bibliographic in nature. It was evident that, during the course of history, movements under the female leadership provided achievements enjoyed by contemporary women. In this way, while affirming themselves as citizens and subjects of law, today's women can fight for new goals. It is noteworthy, therefore, that such struggles take place, including and especially in Goiás.
