Women conventual apothecary
the recipes of Portuguese visitandinas (XVIII century)

This paper aims to examine the apothecary recipes contended in a manuscript book written in a Portuguese convent of visitandinas, during the 18th century. In this manuscript, the reader will find cooking recipes and other ones about hygiene, beauty and also medicines used at the time. This mixture was very common at the time in this type of documents.
