Este ensaio parte da minha experiência como professora de mulheres encarceradas na Prisão de Cook County, em Chicago. Atuei nos programas RESTORE e THRIVE, voltados à educação e reintegração social. Refletindo sobre o racismo estrutural e a herança da escravidão, defendo que o feminismo negro pode criar espaços de liberdade e cuidado mesmo dentro do cárcere.
