This article aims to present an analysis of the short story “Coração”, by Marcelino Freire, considering the loneliness experienced by the character Célio as a result of the oppression intersectionality of being a "bicha preta" (black and queer). In addition, the socio-historical conditions that allow the emergence of this character are examined, assuming the complexity created by the crossing of instances that configure this intersectional character. The authors Bernardino-Costa and Grosfoguel (2016), Preciado (2014), and bell hooks (2019) were employed as theoretical references in order to deal with the rupture of the masculinity-heterosexuality system, performing, instead, a kind of “femininity”; Akotirene (2019) as a discussion of the intersectionality concept by observing Célio's body and space. As a result, the formation of the character Célio was substantiated as a body that is not able to have its affections reciprocated with the same intensity as other subjects, mainly due to the activation of intertextualities that justify the loneliness experienced by the character as construction of how this "bicha preta" is represented in Contemporary Literature.
