Abstract

This text deals with the replacement of two disciplines (English Literature and North-American Literature) by another with a different title and a different content: Literatures in English. It also mentions a new discipline, Introduction to Intermediality, its creation and transformations undergone for years. It discusses the term intermediality as a tool for the analysis of works in English, canonical or not, produced in Anglophonic countries. Eventually it suggests a new way of dealing with those works, presenting some examples of classes and activities of the abovementioned discipline, offered in different terms, to undergraduate students from all units of the University.
