The extension project "UNILA Translation Laboratory" arises from an institutional vacuum: the absence of an instance to think collectively about translation in the singular context of a Brazilian university whose philosophical and methodological principles are focused on Portuguese-Spanish bilingualism, multilingualism, interdisciplinarity and interculturality. Characterized as a formative place for students from different areas of knowledge interested in developing a deeper reflection on the translation as well as on the role of the languages at the university, this action has as a challenge to promote the study of translation as a specialized practice, as well as the development of translational competence through a socioconstructivist perspective (KIRALY, 2000). In this paper, some theoretical-methodological aspects adopted in the project will be presented and, based on the description of one of the works carried out by the group in the scope of audiovisual translation, will be discussed how we develop the collaborative translation experience that is defended and on which we base our practice of formation and evaluation.
