This article proposes and presents the relationship between commerce and the city and how this relationship is established based on spatial dynamics affected by the garment branch in Fortaleza/CE. The theory of urban economy circuits appears as a theoretical and methodological tool for achieving the proposed objectives, mainly because it is a theory that allows the coexistence of modern activities, which house a considerable volume of capital and technology, and traditional, which take place with reduced capital, dependent on the content of the places where they are located. From the literature review, secondary data collection, and production of primary data, through fieldwork, it is possible to identify the main concentrations of the commercial activities of clothing in Fortaleza, their characteristics, and the spatial dynamics they produce.
