CDTN AUTOMATIC METEOROLOGICAL STATION: TREATMENT OF WEATHER INFORMATION TO RECOGNIZE DATA QUALITY AND SUPPORT ATMOSPHERIC DISPERSION STUDIES.
Abstract
The Meteorological Station (EMET) of the Nuclear Technology Development Center (CDTN), located in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, designed was to provide local meteorological information to enable the environmental and nuclear licensing processes of the CDTN facilities. It started its operation automatically in September 1996, with investigation of several meteorological parameters. This work carried was out with the objective of contributing to the improvement of the information quality of EMET in order to contribute to the accomplishment of atmospheric dispersion studies in the nuclear area through a data investigation system. To this end, a methodology of treatment of meteorological data elaborated based was on the experience acquired with the operation of the station and techniques found in the existing bibliography. The main results presented a data treatment procedure aiming at identifying missing data and eliminating faults, assessing the quality of data generated between 1996 and 2012 and identifying the best periods for implementation in atmospheric dispersion studies.
