Productive Restructuring and Uneven Development in Space
A Debate on the New Configuration of Capital Accumulation and its Impacts on Production Circles
Abstract
The paper demonstrates how financial investments, as an instrument of valorization and subordination of productive capital, stimulate the production reengineering, reaching industrial groups and encouraging them to achieve higher profitability rates. Equally, it considers the territorial dimensions of the process, which absorb and alter these dynamics, producing an articulated, hierarchical, and fragmented organization in space and its flows, generating ever more fierce logic where the uneven development is the key to the processes of accumulation.
Keywords: Territorial and productive restructuring; Regulation Theory; Uneven development in space.
