Abstract

Over the course of history, fairs have undergone changes in terms of their social and economic role and have become the object of research in various academic studies. However, the discussion of gender in this space is, in general, little discussed by researchers. It is in this context that the general objective of this article is to analyze the dynamics involved in the work of the woman marketer. We also sought to discuss issues related to working hours, financial autonomy as a result of their activity and the importance of female participation in this market. To achieve these objectives, a bibliographical research was carried out based on authors who approach the theme, whose considerations are compared to the results of exploratory research having as field the Trade Union Fair of Ituiutaba (MG). The results show that being a marketer happens because of inheritance, financial needs or because it is an easily accessible job market. The workers perceive the activity as a dignified profession that provides them with survival.
