the SPACIALIZATION OF FRUIT IN FAMILY AGRICULTURE IN NORTH FLUMINENSE
Abstract
This paper aims to analyze fruit growing in family farming in the North Fluminense, showing its potential potential, in the socioeconomic and spatial scope, from 2000 -2016. The North Fluminense region encompasses nine municipalities (Campos dos Goytacazes, Carapebus, Cardoso Moreira, Conceição de Macabu, Quissamã, Macaé, Sao Fidelis, Sao Joao da Barra and Sao Francisco de Itabapoana). To carry out the research, we adopted quantitative and qualitative methods in order to compile data and information from the study area and, in return, present them and contribute to family farmers. We use the following methodological procedures: bibliographic survey; documentary survey with the municipal departments of agriculture, Pesagro, Emater and existing Associations; compilation and systematization of secondary source data - SIDRA / IBGE; conducting exploratory field research; application of semi-structured interview scripts and semi-structured questionnaires with family farmers in municipalities with the highest total value from fruit growing. Fruitculture has always been present in the North Fluminense Region, but since the 2000s, as the Fruiting Project, there has been the dissemination, albeit selective, of fruit varieties in both employer agriculture and family farmers.
