Abstract

Changes occurring in the Brazilian territory, especially at the beginning of the 21st century, arise from public policies and programs developed by the agents who work in the public and private spheres. These policies, among others, had as their central point the dynamization of regions and states, hitherto uninterrupted by the actions of national and global investors. The manifestation of such policies allowed for a selective dispersion of economic activities throughout the national territory. The northeastern region of Brazil, especially the State of Ceará, was one of the places where the installation of internal and external investments provided new territorial and consequent population dynamics. Thus, numerous migratory movements became part of daily life in Ceará, among them, the international migration of Africans. Thus, the purpose of this text is to understand the migration of Africans to Brazil, especially to Ceará at the beginning of the 21st century. The focus of analysis is the population of Africans who move to Ceará, with the objective of work and professional qualification. In order to reach the objectives, the methodological course was: bibliographical, documentary and statistical survey; 4) Empirical research; 5) Synthesis of results. In view of this, we affirm that the presence of Africans in Ceará, as a result of the insertion of the state in a new territorial division of labor, allows us to have new migratory territorialities based on daily practices related to work, study, consumption and leisure of the migrant group highlighted in this text.
