Abstract

The temporal landmarks that frame and classify an author’s work are associated with processes of meaning demarcation that can be ever changing and elusive. These operations involve the appropriation and reappropriation of its meaning, which can be at odds with the intentions having guided the authors of this or that work. Dias Gomes and his theatrical production have not escaped a few periodizations and classifications that ultimately imply ways of seeing and editing that lead to a number of different constructions, if not deconstructions. In this article, a intend to examine the trajectory of playwright Dias Gomes having as basic reference theatrical texts and books issued by publishing houses Civilização Brasileira in the 1970s and Bertrand Brasil in the 1980s.
