Abstract

Considering the ephemeral nature of the theater scene, fading away when curtains are drawn after each performance, we analyze theatre criticism, weathered survivors that enable understanding of staging details not found in other research materials. Here we work with criticism of the staging of The Bedbug (1981, Dulcina theater, Rio de Janeiro; 1983, Sesc Pompeia theater, São Paulo), written by the Russian poet Vladímir Maiakóvski (1893-1930) in 1928, translated and staged in Brazil by stage director Luís Antonio Martinez Corrêa (1950-1987).
