Materialized discourses in female songs

relationships of power and resistance

Abstract

This article analyzes and describes the network of utterances, due to power and resistance games, materialized in the lyrics of songs in the currently named movement feminejo. Thus, we seek to give visibility to the statements that, in this musical style, when reiterated/repeated, legitimize knowledge about women. For analysis, we selected the utterances of the significant set of songs by Naiara Azevedo for the construction of the corpus of our research. With Foucault's assumptions (1979; 2007; 2009; 2010) and his contributions to French Discourse Analysis, in relation to power and resistance, we can observe how the discourse of resistance is constituted, through precise strategies, in feminejo. And by following this theoretical and methodological bias, we could see that the subject of the female discourse resists the rules and hegemonic discourses instituted in society, occupying and, even transgressing, legitimated roles and social spaces.
