Abstract

In this article, we seek to analyze the book Alguma Poesia (2022 [1930]) by Carlos Drummond de Andrade, in order to reflect the author's discursive positioning in his canonical space, based on discussions on Literary Discourse Analysis proposed by Dominique Mainguenau (2012). We opted for a bibliographical methodological approach, in which we mobilize notions and theories proposed by Maingueneau to analyze the discourse present in Drummond's work, thus seeking to identify the different forms of legitimization of his discursive positioning, by searching for irony and other traits in his poems. that mark his style and a certain style of modernism, such as free verse, everyday themes, urbanization, among others. We conclude that, through the legitimization of Drummond in the book Alguma Poesia as an author, it is possible to say that the work constitutes an element of the literary discourse of Brazilian modernism and confirms the functioning of authorship as a significant notion for the discourses considered constituents.

  • Manuel Veronez, University of the State of Minas Gerais (UEMG), Divinópolis Unit
    Professor of Higher Education at the Department of Literature (DL) at the State University of Minas Gerais (UEMG), Divinópolis Unit. PhD in Linguistic Studies from the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), with a sandwich period at the Université Paris-Sorbonne (Paris IV). Post-doctorate in Linguistics/Discourse Analysis from UFU. He is leader of GPED - Research Group on Discourse Studies, certified by CNPq. He has been published in several national journals and has a book published by Editora da ABRALIN - Associação Brasileira de Linguística. His research focuses on the area of ​​Linguistics, with an emphasis on the following themes: Literary Discourse Analysis, authorship functioning, enunciation scenes, speech genres, generic valence, paratopia and paratopic clutch.
