Abstract

The present study addressed how international contract law aims to predict and regulate possible future contractual crises that prevent or excessively burden the performance of the contract. Starting from two specific clauses, the force majeure and the hardship, and analyzing its requirements and effects from two internationally established standards (UNIDROIT 2016 and CCI 2020), sought, at the end, to extract conclusions on the possible and eventual invocation of such clauses in reason of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic
