The globalized world enhances the movement of people, including workers. Free Movement of Workers and Social Security - Comparative Study between European Union and MERCOSUR, book by Manuellita Hermes, published in 2019, falls under this theme. The author identifies interesting similarities between public international law and the institutes of Roman law, the jus gentium applicable to all people in the Roman empire, although it differs from international public law because it did not derive from agreements between states. In this work, Manuellita Hermes draws a parallel between Roman citizenship and citizenship well developed in the European Union and being implemented in MERCOSUR, guaranteeing people community rights, which transcend national rights.
