Abstract

The book “LGBTI Refuge - National and International Panorama” (free translation) addresses the issue of the right of refuge for reasons of sexual orientation and gender identity, a very challenging topic in the sense that it is not easy to develop research with extremely vulnerable people and that often they live as invisible beings in prejudiced societies that know little or nothing of this reality. The methodology used in his work was historical, comparative and inductive and the work was structured from a constitutionalist and human rights perspective, working on the evolution of the refuge the history of the refuge in Brazil and from there on into the possibilities of refuge for LGBT people.

Especialista em Direito Internacional Público e Privado pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul – UFRGS; em Pesquisa e Investigação de Arquivos de Família e Investigação Histórica pelo Instituto de Estudos Medievais da Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas - Universidade Nova de Lisboa; e em Imigração, Segurança e Justiça pelo Centro de Excelência Jean Monet - Universidade de Lisboa. Graduada em Direito pela Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos – UNISINOS.
