Abstract

Abstract: The main objective of this article is to analyze the effects on the job market from the Brazilian industrial restructuring process in the 90s. The database used was RAIS-migrates for the state of Minas Gerais in order to quantify and to qualify the impacts on job and on wages from the restructuring process undertaken by the companies, above all the one of larger load. The use of those data allowed a more necessary evaluation about the effects of the main following strategy for the companies in their restructuring process, which is, the activities outsourcing. The occurrence of an intense transfer process was verified intra and intersetorial, with prominence for the increase of the relative participation of the industrial companies of small load and of the section of services in the generation of jobs. Such a process was accompanied by a decrease of the wages payed to the workers in this period, what contributed, excessively, for the enlargement of the job market precariousness.
