THE USE OF DIFFERENT LANGUAGES IN GEOGRAPHIC EDUCATION FOR STUDY AND UNDERSTANDING OF GEOGRAPHIC SPACE AND GLOBALIZATION

Abstract

It is perceived that it remains a challenge for the Geography teacher to look for methodologies that stimulate and attract the student to the understanding of the geographic contents. However, the teacher can not fail to fulfill his/her role of transforming agent of society, because it acts directly in the formation of critical citizens. In this perspective, the teacher should reflect on his daily practice, looking for methodologies capable of forming a citizen in its totality. Based on these premises, the geographic knowledge must be worked in a more interactive and dynamic way, instigating the attention of the student; Making it reflects that society is constantly changing. Thus, the teacher can use different speeches ​​in teaching such as movies, comics, videos etc to achieve the proposed objectives. Therefore, the main objective of this work is to report and analyze the use of different speeches ​​in the teaching of Geography to study and understand geographic space and globalization. This study was conducted in the first semester of 2015 with two 8^th grade class elementary school of a public school in Picuí- PB city. The research is configured as qualitative research-action type, in the theoretical conception of Critical Geography. The different speeches ​​used were: auxiliary texts, images, advertisings, movie, music and poem. The results achieved were effective indicating that with the use of several resources in the classroom it is possible to have a better use in the teaching-learning process.
