Abstract

Urban geography within the school context is extremely important because it allows us to understand the production and reproduction of space in cities. Besides that, it is one of the themes that should be developed in the third cycle (6th and 7th) year of basic education. However, in order to learn a topic as complex as this, it is of great value to work with the lived space. So, the didactic sequence presented in the present report was developed. Its general objective was the distribution of real estate, by value and by neighborhood, in the urban area of the county of Santa Maria (RS). It was found that the proposed activity contributed to a students' learning, developed or critical reasoning about what is a real estate speculation and with an identification of elements that prove this in their county of residence.
