Covid-19 and tele-education in health

This text’s objective is to report the experience of health education done by telemonitoring patients with Covid-19 suspicious in Primary Health Care, accomplished at the Unidade Básica de Saúde Novo Horizonte, in Teresina, State of Piauí, Brazil, between July and December 2019. During the project, 504 patients were monitored, with the fulfillment of requirements for suspected cases of Covid-19 and their respective contacts through the appreciation of tele-education in health as a viable instrument in the fight against the pandemic. However, this practice presents significant challenges, which will be discussed in this text to verify that the health education process, whether face-to-face or at a distance, is a tool that enables the promotion and prevention of health and that Nursing plays an essential role in this new way of working, that emerged in the context of the pandemic.
