Abstract

This work reverberates the execution of a remote extension activity, free and open to the community, in order to promote to the participants the “Coração do Mindful Eating” program, and brings a descriptive and transversal analysis of the collected data on socio demographic profile, lifestyle and eating behavior. The program proposes to offer participants safe spaces for sharing, as well as allowing and helping them to develop skills in “Mindfulness”, and thereby alleviate emotions and repercussions arising from the changes caused by the pandemic, in food and in the individual's relationship with the food. The quantitative format data, obtained via an online form with self-report questions, made it possible to discuss the profile of the participants, as well as the benefits offered to them, added to the difficulties encountered in carrying out the extension/research activity. Forty-one participants were included, mostly female, between 18 and 25 years old, who presented a varied lifestyle and home context, as well as behaviors impacted by emotions. Therefore, it is possible to conclude that the objectives of the program do justice to the profile of the participants, as well as an outreach activity that provides for the current moment of pandemic.
