Abstract

The extension project pedagogy hospital in the sector of child hemodialysis: promoting pedagogical school care, is set in the outpatient sector of child hemodialysis of a large Hospital since 2013. This report will share the experiences lived during the second semester of 2019 and the first of 2020. The project consists of weekly meetings with student-patients in the hemodialysis outpatient sector, by undergraduate students of Pedagogy, the objective is offering educational-school assistance to children with Chronic Kidney Disease, monitoring the teaching and learning process and rescuing the schooling of these student-patients. To this end, it is essential to study and understand the needs and specificity of each student-patient assisted, seeking theoretical and methodological basis in supervisions. Also, they have provided undergraduate students involved in training experiences within the scope of Hospital Pedagogy as the understanding of outpatient care as a possibility of pedagogical care. It is noteworthy that in the period experienced, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the challenges led to the re-framing of the objectives of the project so that it could continue with the use of Information and Communication Technologies, thus, ensuring continuity of care and recognition of the right to education of these student-patients.
