Abstract

This text aims to describe the actions of a collective composed of students, teachers and technicians, of a public university in the State of Bahia, committed to fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. The activities proposed and developed invests in strategies that contribute to guidance, prevention and management of the coronavirus in a health region located in northern Bahia. The emergency health situation has affected the daily life of the world population, including the educational equipment, and will certainly reflect in different ways in the post-pandemic reality. Brazilian public universities are fighting bravely to reinvent their daily academic performance and get closer to the population in order to contribute to the confrontation of the pandemic. The results show the recognition of challenges in the production of knowledge in a new format, a new disease and a society with chronic limitations. The creation of a virtual environment for sharing information in digital format, as well as the production of newsletters and virtual meetings with health professionals, academics and the community in general, occurred. The implementation of the activities allowed the opening of space to glimpse strategies for positioning the university in the context of crisis and the revisiting of its social commitments.
