Abstract

This text it is result of the extension project “The tale’s hour”, developed in the second semester of 2019, at the State University of Bahia, Campus XII, located in the city of Guanambi, State of Bahia, Brazil, which aims to introduce and discuss the actions developed in the project and the results obtained in the light of the National Extension Policy. In the first instance we created a group of storytellers for children, which was developed by the monitor and the voluntary participants, in order to stimulate the teachers to tell stories for children in public elementary schools in their city. Afterwards, we created the group of studies “child storytelling”, introduced by the public elementary school, monitors, students and egresses from the Pedagogy Course. Thus, the aforementioned extension project opens up a horizon of possibilities as it contributes to personal and professional training through theoretical support and the sharing of experiences, in addition to promote students' contact with the reality of schools. The results of this work reveal the positive impacts of the project for the integral development of children, for the training of future pedagogues and reflection of elementary teachers about their pedagogical practice.
