This text reflects on the inseparability between extension, research and teaching from the experience of the authors in the extension course CAPDança: Capacitação de professores de dança através do Sistema Laban. The 45 hours extension course emerged from a partnership between the Dance Undergraduate Course at Federal University of Uberlândia and SESC Uberlândia, having been offered in person to 30 dance teachers from Uberlândia and region, in the second half of 2019. To bring this reflection, the text is presented as an informal dialogue between the authors, and touches on important points for dance extension, such as: the approximation between knowledge produced or researched inside and outside the university; the importance of continuing formative experiences for dance teachers; the impacts of the promotion of formative meetings and exchange of knowledge between dance professionals with different profiles and modes of working; the potential of this work for a more expanded and substantiated understanding of human movement from the perspective of the systematization proposed by Rudolf Laban. In addition, the text discusses the unfolding and influences of the extension course and the extensionist logic – of connection between university and society – in teaching and researching activities.
