Bioética: a crítica de Singer à abordagem da ética tradicional

RESUMO: Este trabalho apresenta alguns dos aspectos fundamentais da teoria ética de Singer no que diz respeito à bioética. Para o filósofo, a concepção de sacralidade da vida humana somente pode ser justificada a partir da atitude especista dos seres humanos em relação à vida dos demais seres. Sua abordagem permite conhecer a fragilidade de alguns argumentos éticos diante do avanço biotecnológico. Sua teoria pode não ser suficiente para resolver os conflitos relacionados à ética prática, porém mostra-se necessária diante das questões relacionadas à vida, sobretudo quando é preciso uma teoria ética capaz de sustentar argumentos para o debate sobre uma ética da terminação da vida. Bioethics: a critique of Singer to traditional approach to ethics ABSTRACT: This work presents some fundamental aspects of Singer's ethical theory with regard to bioethics. For the philosopher, the conception of sanctity of human life can only be justified from the special attitudes of human beings in relation to the lives of other beings. His approach gives us the fragility of some ethical arguments before the advance of biotechnology. His theory may not be enough to resolve the conflicts related to ethical practice, but appears to be needed before issues related to life, especially when you need an ethical theory capable of supporting arguments to the debate about the ethics of ending life.
