Load test on solid slabs: numerical and experimental analysis

Abstract

In situations where there is a change in the use of the building or in situations that arise in construction failures, it is necessary to prove the structural safety of the structural elements and for this, experimental tests, often called load tests, are often carried out. In this paper, the static load tests of three slabs were presented to verify the structural safety in the ultimate limit state and in the service limit state. For numerical analysis, a computer program based on the finite element method was used, considering the behavior of elastic and linear materials. It was concluded that the structural elements analyzed showed strength capacity and the numerical simulation had satisfactory results.
