This article aims to analyze the depiction of horror based on the representation of the female figure in Asian folklore by focusing on the legend of Pontianak, the vampire woman. The study centers on the episode "Nobody" from the horror series Folklore produced by HBO Max in 2018. Created as an anthology that brings together a collection of traditions and beliefs from the Asian continent, Folklore (2018) presents stories with different perspectives on the human condition and its connection to supernatural events and figures. In "Nobody," the viewer is introduced to the story of the Malaysian popular myth Pontianak. When a young woman buried clandestinely on a plot of land slated for real estate development is discovered by the workers, this entity emerges and haunts those men in search of justice.
