Abstract

This study critically analyzes Carol Chiovatto's work "Porém Bruxa" (2023) from an interdisciplinary perspective that combines literary theory, textual criticism, and cultural studies. Using Bakhtin's theories as an interpretive lens, the study investigates the dialogues among author, text, and reader, considering the social and historical context in which the work was produced. Recognizing the diversity of readers and their varied interpretations, the study aims to comprehend the formation of the critical reader and the intertwined meanings within the narrative. It concludes that the figure of the witch, complex and multifaceted, acts as a metaphor for social and cultural dynamics, challenging norms and exploring boundaries, reflecting the depth of human experience and the magic of words in the vast tapestry of literature.

Rodrigo dos Santos Sbardelini, Pontificia Universidade Católica de São Paulo - PUCSP

Mestrando em Literatura e Crítica Literária pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUCSP), com bolsa CAPES. Pesquisa o papel da Literatura Fantástica na formação do leitor crítico, tendo como objeto de estudo duas obras da autora brasileira contemporânea Carol Chiovatto. Bacharel em Publicidade e Propaganda pelo Centro Universitário Leonardo da Vinci, com experiência abrangente em Marketing, Comunicação, Redação Publicitária e Ensino da Língua Inglesa. Atualmente, também encontra-se imerso em um processo de formação como escritor.
