Abstract

ABSTRACT: This paper revises my proposal about the stress in Portuguese, in the line of Halle and Vergnaud, (1994). It will be interpreted in the Hayes model, showing that the syllabic trochee is the more general rule invoked in the organization of the feet whereas the moraic trochee is the specific one.
