AIR CARGO TRANSPORT

Abstract

The article aims to analyze the air transport of cargo at Brasília International Airport – Presidente Juscelino Kubitscheck, trying to understand the importance and participation of Brasília in the logistics of cargo distribution across the country. As a methodology, bibliographic research and literature review about the Transport Geography, logistics, territory and circulation, air sector and cargo transport were used. Secondary data on the volume and type of cargo and domestic and international air connections were also collected. Brasília has a large area of regional and national influence. The centrality of the city is configured by the conformation of an important passenger transport hub. Cargo transport benefits from this large flow by using the free space of the holds for cargo transport. Thus, there is a logistic complementarity influenced by the predominant type of operation.
